CO CURRICULAR / EXTRA MURALS

Extra mural activities such as sports and cultural activities, teach children important life lessons. Furthermore, participation in a variety of extramural activities helps to develop many character traits that are vital to a child’s overall growth into adulthood.  Extra Murals enhance well-being, increases in self-confidence, self-esteem and self-belief.

At Brylin we encourage our learners to become actively involved in extra murals.

Grade 1 - 3

The learners also take part in the KFC Mini-Cricket League.

This is compulsory and worked into the school Timetable.

Chess Club

Brylin learners can join either the Junior or Senior Chess Club which meets once a week.  Competitions are arranged and the Senior learners take part in the Chess League.

Handcraft Club

At Handcraft Club learners learn the basics of sewing. Sewing is an important Life Skill which teaches self-confidence through skill building. Sewing helps one develop fine motor skills, improves one’s focus and concentration and teaches the importance of patience and self-control.

Modeling & Grooming Class

Modeling & Grooming Classes are offered to all the girls Grades 1 – 7. Grooming and etiquette is an important aspect for one to present themselves to the outer world. It creates positive impressions, increases confidence and self-esteem, enhancing communication skills.

Computer Club

Computer Club is available to all Grade 4 – 7 learners after school.  The objectives of the Computer Club are to widen the perspectives of technology and allow the learners to get hands-on experiences with media. Learners get to expand their horizons by learning different multimedia skills.

Library Club

Learners are encouraged to join Library Club. At Brylin we encourage reading as it stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. It helps them develop language and listening skills and prepares them to understand the written word.

Kids in Action Club

Brylin offers the learners in Grade 1 – 7 to become involved in the Kids in Action Club which meets on the first Friday of every month.

The learners are made aware of helping the community and saving the environment and get involved in for example recycling, dangers of fires etc.  Creative activities are also completed with the learners.
